HFT Supports All Americans

This past year has been a turbulent one for American history. The struggle for justice and diversity continually takes on a new look. Asian Americans, currently a target of hate crimes, have a long history of discrimination on our soil. We must remember the adage that ‘freedom is not free”. As we look at the struggles to create the world we call home, we must exert ourselves to accept and inculcate a love for diversity and continue our struggle for freedom as a united front. Each cultural group in our history has given a tremendous amount of energy and work to weave our country’s “quilt” of ethnic richness and diversity.

We as educators are fortunate and honored to have received students from diverse and varying backgrounds. We appreciate and acknowledge the wonderful feeling of joy that comes from the cultural interaction and the sharing of our traditions in engaging all of our students and their families in Hartford’s communities. The HFT stands with the Asian American/Pacific Islander community in denouncing any violence, bias, and bigotry. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost loved ones due to the recent events that have occurred in Atlanta this week.
