What is an MOU? It is a Memorandum of Understanding, and it amends an existing contract.
When we negotiate a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), the union and the district agree to abide by that contract for a period of years. Sometimes, issues arise that might not be addressed in the original agreement. In such a case, the Union and District leadership may collaborate to produce an MOU. This is a standard practice between unions and school districts.
Below is a summary of the agreements we negotiated during the 2022-2023 school year.
