Steven Tatum, Secretary

Steven Tatum is in his fourth year teaching high school English in Hartford. He moved to Hartford from his home state of Vermont where he taught for the first five years of his career. As a teacher and NEA member in Vermont, he was honored with Vermont NEA’s Human and Civil Rights Award for his work organizing with teachers and parents in his district around issues of equity and racial identity. He earned BA and MAT degrees from Bard College, where he studied philosophy, literature, and education. When he’s not teaching, he enjoys participating in Mutual Aid work in Hartford, attending community events, gardening, and reading.
