The Hartford Federation of Teachers joins the HFSSPO Local 1018D, in congratulating Officer Jay McElroy, the Hartford Public Schools School Safety Officer of the Year! Officer McElroy is a dedicated community servant, giving countless hours of his time to the Naylor community. He is a part of many school-wide and community events at the school, and volunteers as coach for the basketball and soccer teams.
“Naylor is a better place because Jay is there,” remarked HFT first vice-president Corey Moses. “The students really look up to him, and the staff strives to model his integrity.” The HFT is so very proud to see one of its own honored in this way. All of Hartford’s teachers and students are grateful for the service and sacrifice of Hartford’s SSOs, especially during this challenging time.
