On the anniversary of 9/11 this year, there are many people we need to honor in our minds and hearts: those who perished, those who responded, those who lost loved ones, and those who lived through it. The day left an indelible mark on all who experienced it in any way. It was a traumatic event for individuals, families, workplaces, communities, and our country as a whole.
And, trauma can manifest within us in many ways and can have a significant impact on our abilities to trust, to feel safe, and to allow joy into our lives. Let’s give ourselves permission to remember, to feel, and to hold one another in kind and gentle compassion … not just on 9/11 but everyday. Stay strong together.
