Return to Full In-person Learning

With COVID numbers decreasing and a national push to return students to classes, we all seek to know when and how that transition will occur in Hartford. To that end, I reached out to the superintendent last week on behalf of all the HPS unions and asked if she had plans for increasing in-person leaning. “No decisions have been made,” was her reply. A day or so later, in the superintendent’s weekly update, she indicated a decision would be made this week. Today I again reached out to say that all HPS unions stand ready to engage in this decision making process and, if involved, can assist at every level to facilitate as smooth a transition as possible. We represent the essential workers that can assist administrators in creating a plan appropriate for each building, reach out to parents, and explain changes to students. Let our voices be heard!
